My Story

Hello, and welcome to my story! I’m Donald J. Brown—a follower of Jesus Christ, a seeker of truth, and someone who has encountered both the darkness and the light of spiritual warfare. My journey has been one of profound trials, revelations, and, ultimately, a divine calling to bring others into His victory.

In 1980, I came face-to-face with evil in a small employment office in Huntsville, Alabama. A demonic entity manifested before me, its dark presence sending chills through my soul. But through the power of Jesus’ name, I rebuked it, and it fled. That moment changed the course of my life—it opened my eyes to the unseen battle raging around us. It was just one skirmish in a greater war between light and darkness, truth and deception.

Through all these experiences, I’ve found a deep purpose in striving to build a ministry that embodies compassion and service. I’ve already begun this journey with the creation of https://wisdomofthecross.com and https://journeyinwisdom.com, platforms that serve to share faith and wisdom. Additionally, I hold the domains https://feedthepilgrims.com, which I plan to develop as an initiative to help feed and shelter the homeless—a cause close to my heart.

This calling resonates deeply with me, especially after spending six months homeless myself. Along with losing a wife, a home, and all its belongings, I found myself living in my 2004 pickup truck with 200,000 miles on it, accompanied only by my loyal dachshund. Despite the hardships, I salvaged my computers and began working tirelessly, turning to Uber Eats in June 2019. Through the challenges of COVID in 2020, I completed over 10,000 deliveries, working 18–20 hours a day, 7 days a week. This chapter of my life has profoundly shaped the direction and commitment of my ministry.

Fast forward to 2025, I had a vivid dream—a vision that shook me to my core. In the dream, I found myself surrounded by demons, rebuking them in Jesus’ name. As I spoke, they fell. This dream reignited memories of that encounter in Huntsville and compelled me to delve deeper into the spiritual battles we face every day.

Guided by prayer, research, and divine inspiration, I began unearthing biblical truths about demons, spiritual warfare, and the authority believers hold through Christ. Encouraged by a dear friend, I compiled everything into my book, Dominion Over Darkness: Demons, Spiritual Warfare & End of Days. This book is not just my story—it’s His triumph over the forces of darkness. It’s my calling to equip others with the knowledge and tools to walk boldly in God’s authority.

However, this journey has not been without challenges. In recent years, I’ve faced profound losses—my wife passed six years ago, followed by my dog two years ago. I lost my business, my home, and, for a time, my sense of direction. I was drowning in self-pity, but six months ago, I reclaimed my faith, repented, and took back the ground I had lost.

That decision reignited my purpose, but it also drew resistance. Spiritual opposition has come in many forms—financial hardship, strained relationships, and relentless attempts to derail my work. My Uber income dried up due to rising car payments and insurance costs, leaving me without a vehicle. Friends around me have faced their own battles, and the enemy seems determined to stop this ministry from growing.

Yet, through His strength, I’ve persevered.
